Netflix has officially canceled the sci-fi series ‘Another Life’ four months after its premiere. Series lead Katee Sackhoff confirmed the cancelation via her social media accounts while also thanking the cast and crew, who worked on the series.

After arriving on October 14, 2021, ‘Another Life’ Season 2 made it to the top 10 Netflix show only once. The show was watched for 157 million hours combined that week. As compared to any other Hit Netflix shows, the performance was below par and didn't fulfill the expectations of the streamer. Season 2 has a proper ending and didn't leave on a cliffhanger, which should be a relief for the new subscribers thinking to watch it.

Confirming the cancelation, Katee wrote, "I’d like to thank everyone single person who watched & supported Another Life. To our crew & cast thank you for always working so hard & being prepared. I wish we could do more seasons but sadly it’s just not in the cards 🚀 See you on the next adventure ❤️ Love Niko."

The series follows Captain Niko Breckinridge (Katee Sackhoff), who takes the spaceship Salvare and its crew to determine the origin of the unidentified flying object, shaped like a Möbius strip that landed on Earth and establishes the first contact with the species who sent it. The Salvare is capable of faster-than-light (FTL) travel and carries the majority of its crew sleeping in hibernation pods, prepared to be awakened as needed.

In the Season 2 finale, when the Salvare's crew realizes that the Achaians they've been fighting are artificial lifeforms, they come up with a strategy to infect them with a computer virus based on human DNA developed by William and Ursula. Niko allows herself to become the host to a dying Achaian and transports it to the Artifact, where the Achaians imprison Niko and Cas. Taking the shape of numerous persons, the Achaians admit that they never intended to have peace with humans, viewing humanity as cancer that will spread throughout the Galaxy if not prevented. Before they kill Niko and Cas, the virus takes effect, and both escape as the Artifact implodes. The surviving Achaian Rings flee the solar system just in time for William to divert the Salvare's course toward the Sun. William can project his image via a wormhole to Earth using Achaian technology, and he hopes that they will someday be able to build him a physical form. Now that they realize they aren't the only life in the universe, another mission is launched on the Salvare 2.

The now-canceled Season 3 would have explored the mission launched on Salvare 2 to expand the horizons of humanity and make contact with other species using wormhole travel.

Created by Aaron Martin, the series stars Katee Sackhoff, Selma Blair, Elizabeth Ludlow, Justin Chatwin, Samuel Anderson, Parveen Dosanjh, Greg Hovanessian, Alexander Eling, Alex Ozerov, Jake Abel, JayR Tinaco, A.J. Rivera, Lina Renna, Jessica Camacho, Blu Hunt, Barbara Williams, Chanelle Peloso, and Tyler Hoechlin. Katee also serves as an executive producer on the show.
