Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have released the first teaser trailer for the most anticipated movie of the year “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”  Also, Sony has confirmed that they are still sticking with the same release date and it will arrive in theaters on December 17, 2021.

The trailer reveals many clues including the appearance of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as their respective Spidermans'. Also, it teases a multiversal war which could be part of this film as well as upcoming MCU movies. Many villains from previous Spiderman movies are also returning and can be seen in the trailer including, Dr. Octopus, Green Goblin, Electro, and Sandman.

In the trailer, Peter (Tom Holland) and MJ (Zendaya) are seen talking as MJ says, “oh look at this, this is a good one some suggest that parker's powers include the male spider's ability to hypnotize females.”

The trailer proceeds further, as J Jonah Jameson accuses, "that's right folks spiderman is in fact peter parker." Peter clarifies, "listen I did not kill Mysterio the drones did."

Peter goes to Dr. Strange as Strange asks, "so peter why do I owe the pleasure." Peter replies "when Mysterio revealed my identity my entire life got screwed up I was wondering if maybe you could make it so that he never did." "The entire world is about to forget that peter parker is spider-man," says Strange before casting the spell. "wait everyone, can't some people still know. so MJ's gonna forget about everything we've ever been through stop tampering with the spell oh my god ned he's my best friend oh my aunt may.

At the end of the trailer, Dr. Octopus says, "Hello Peter!" and this is enough to confirm that Tobey Maguire is back as Spiderman as Octavius wouldn't know Tom Holland's Spiderman in the past.

The film follows on the aftermath of Spider-Man: Far From Home, where Spider-Man's identity is exposed to the world, as Peter Parker struggles to live a normal life. Dr. Strange tries to erase the existence of Spider-Man's identity and encounters a new anomaly, which might put the whole planet at risk.

The official synopsis says, "For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero. When he asks for help from Doctor Strange the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man."

Spider-Man: No Way Home is an upcoming MCU Phase 4 movie, co-produced by Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios, and distributed by Sony Pictures. It is a sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019), and the 27th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
