Amazon has revealed the first trailer for Sylvester Stallone's superhero movie, ‘Samaritan.’ The action-packed movie will release on August 26 on Prime Video, worldwide.
The trailer shows the Umbrella Academy star Javon “Wanna” Walton's character Sam getting bullied by some young adults in the neighborhood, but Mr. Smith played by Sylvester Stallone as a good neighbor interferes and kicks the bullies away. The trailer reveals that Mr. Smith is actually a former crime-fighting vigilante superhero who reportedly died a long back, but Sam insists that he is alive and knows where he is.
Directed By Julius Avery, the superhero action movie also stars Pilou Asbæk, Dascha Polanco, and Moises Arias.
In the movie, thirteen-year-old Sam Cleary suspects that his mysterious and reclusive neighbor Mr. Smith is a legend hiding in plain sight. Twenty years ago, Granite City’s super-powered vigilante, Samaritan, was believed to be dead after a fiery warehouse battle with his adversary, Nemesis. Most assumed Samaritan was killed in the fire, but some in the city, like Sam, have hope that he is still alive. With crime on the rise and the city on the verge of collapse, Sam makes it his duty to bring his neighbor out of hiding to save the city from turning into ruins and chaos.
Julius Avery directed Samaritan based on a screenplay written by Bragi F. Schut. Apart from leading the film, Sylvester Stallone is also the producer alongside Braden Aftergood. Executive producers are Bragi F. Schut, David Kern, Adam Rosenberg, and Guy Riedel.
