Warner Bros. Pictures has revealed a new trailer for the upcoming DC movie, ‘The Batman,’ which focuses on Batman and Catwoman. Directed by Matt Reeves, ‘The Batman’ is set to release on March 4, 2022.

The trailer begins with Batman chasing Penguin through Gotham city on his Batmobile. It shows Batwoman and Selina Kyle (Catwoman) tracking down the clues left by the Riddler as a hidden message says, "You came. I've been trying to reach you." Later Riddler adds, "I'm just here to unmask the truth about this cesspool we call a city. You're part of this, too." As Batman asks, "How am I a part of this?" "Oh, you're really not as smart as I thought you were. Bruce...Wayne" replies The Riddler. The trailer also shows Bruce Wayne confronting Alfred about a secret about which he previously lied.

Warner Bros. Pictures has also teased the HBO Max release date for the film, confirming it will hit the streaming platform 45 days after the theatrical release. ‘The Batman’ is expected to release on HBO Max on April 22, 2022.

The film follows Batman in his second year of fighting crime as he uncovers corruption in Gotham City that connects to his own family while facing a serial killer known as The Riddler.

The cast of the film includes Robert Pattinson in the dual role of Gotham City’s vigilante detective and his alter ego, reclusive billionaire Bruce Wayne. Starring alongside Pattinson as Gotham’s famous and infamous cast of characters are Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle; Paul Dano as Edward Nashton; Andy Serkis as Alfred; Jeffrey Wright as the GCPD’s James Gordon; John Turturro as Carmine Falcone; Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson; Jayme Lawson as mayoral candidate Bella Reál; and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot.

Directed and written by Matt Reeves along with Peter Craig, The Batman wrapped up production in March this year. The film already revealed the full-length trailer featuring Robert Pattinson during the DC Fandome this year.

A spin-off series set in the same universe is also in the works at HBO Max. Warner Bros. is also planning to produce two sequels of this film.
