The official Instagram handle of The Wilds on Prime Video (@thewildsonprime) dropped a few clips from the show via Insta story, all of which end with a number. After combining these numbers, we get a release date, which is 05/6, 2022.
Season two of The Wilds will continue to follow the harrowing ordeal of a group of teenage girls stranded on a remote island, and they weren't there by chance—they've been secretly selected for an extensive social experiment. The new season ups the ante by revealing that the girls aren't the only ones being watched... There's a new set of participants, an island of teenage guys who must also struggle for survival while the experiment's puppet master keeps a close eye on them.
The second season will see some new faces in the wild. Alex Fitzalan as Seth Novak, Aidan Laprete as Henry Tanaka, Charles Alexander as Kirin O'Conner, Miles Gutierrez-Riley as Ivan Taylor, Tanner Ray Rook as Bo Leonard, Nicholas Coombe as Josh Herbert, Reed Shannon as Scotty Simms, and Zack Calderon as Rafael Garcia has joined the Girls.
The returning cast from the first season includes Sophia Taylor Ali as Fatin Jadmani, Rachel Griffiths as Gretchen Klein, Helena Howard as Nora Reid, Reign Edwards as Rachel Reid, Shannon Berry as Dot Campbell, Erana James as Toni Shalifoe, David Sullivan as Daniel Faber, Troy Winbush as Dean Young, Jenna Clause as Martha Blackburn, and Mia Healey as Shelby Goodkind.
In the season one finale, Leah escapes the pit and returns to camp, but Rachel is attacked by a shark before she can warn the others of Nora's betrayal. In flashbacks, Nora is dating a boy named Quinn over the summer, but they break up because Rachel dislikes him. Nora finds Quinn's death in a hazing accident in the fall. She meets Gretchen and discovers Quinn was murdered by her son; Gretchen then hires Nora for her research. Leah reads Shelby's note in flashbacks: "You were right." She persuades Young to allow her to go outdoors for some fresh air, and when he returns her to her room, she manages to leave the door unlocked. That night, she leaves her room and discovers a room of screens watching a male group of outcasts, the "Twilight of Adam".
The series follows a group of teen girls from various backgrounds who are stranded on a remote island following a plane catastrophe. As they learn more about each other, their secrets, and the traumas they've all experienced, the castaways clash and bond. There is only one surprise in this gripping drama: these girls did not wind up on this island by coincidence.
The Wilds is created by Sarah Streicher, who also serves as executive producer on the Amazon Studios/ABC Signature co-production, alongside Jamie Tarses, Amy B. Harris, and Dylan Clark.
