Tobe Nwigwe Joins the Cast of ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ Movie

Rapper and singer, Tobe Nwigwe has joined the cast of the upcoming Transformers movie, ‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts,’ which is currently filming in Los Angeles, California. His character is yet to be revealed.

Nwigwe will be joining an already announced cast that includes Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, Peter Cullen, Ron Perlman, and Luna Lauren Velez.

Later, director Steven Caple Jr. also confirmed the news by his Instagram and said, "Real ones. Announcing my guy Tobe Nwigwe is in Transformers 💪🏽 ahhhhhhhh fye fye!!!!!! It’s family." Dominique Fishback and Anthony Ramos also confirmed the news.

‘Transformers: Rise of the Beasts’ will be set in 1994 with Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons joining the fight of Autobots and Decepticons. The film will be set in New York City and will incorporate two new human characters: Elena, an artifact researcher who keeps having credit for her work taken by her boss; and Noah, an ex-military electronics expert who lives with his family in Brooklyn. “Rise of the Beasts,” will primarily focus on Optimus Prime, serving as a kind of origin story as he arrives for the first time on Earth and learns to become a leader.

Ron Perlman will be giving voice to the character of Optimus Primal, who is the leader of the Maximals and captain of the spaceship Axalon, in the beast mode, he can transform into a giant gorilla. Peter Cullen is also returning as the voice of Optimus Prime.

Other Transformers characters that include Mirage, Arcee, Scourge, Nightbird, Rhinox, and Airazor will be part of this movie.

Steven Caple Jr. is directing from a script by Joby Harold and James Vanderbilt. “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” will hit the theaters on June 24, 2022.
