Untamed Royals is a new Mexican film revolving around some rich brats who use their upper-class status to commit crimes and then easily get away from it. The movie begins with Xavier being interrogated, and the officer can be seen asking if he gets turned on after lying. This question is the beginning of the weirdness this film carries. Xavier gets turned on by a lot of things, and the majority of his scenes are sexual in nature. The kid has lost touch with reality and can often be caught messing up in his own work.

Belonging to a rich family, he considered booking an Uber disgusting and instead preferred walking back home. This is one of the few scenes where the movie wants to tell you that yes these kids are royals, that is they belong to a rich family. Very few scenes are included that show their privileges, so, I didn't quite understand why the film was titled Untamed Royals. They're surely untamed and you'll soon discover what I'm talking about, but what about doing justice to ‘Royals’? Some good scenes could have been included, yet they somehow chose to just focus on showing the darker side which also wasn't depicted properly.

It was Xavi's parents' marriage anniversary, and they didn't seem to care what their child did or what he was up to. There was a robbery in Xavi’s home while he was taking a shower. The robber wore a mask and assaulted the house help. Xavi too wasn't spared, however, soon it was revealed that he was with the robber, and they planned it together. This twisted kid also got shot just to prove that a real robbery happened and it wasn't staged. The chemistry between Xavi and Gerardo can be noticed in a scene during the robbery. Xavi isn't shown to be vocal about his sexuality, so bits and pieces have been provided about him. Together this duo performs many thefts, and once you realize the purpose, you'll be left wondering if the writers gave the plot a good thought or not.

We don't see Xavi talking much and there are just actions. It's Gerardo on whom the movie is focused as he's the one using the money and at the same time fucking everyone. At a point, the concept becomes so irritating that this 99-minute film feels worthless. They're randomly jumping from one scene to another leaving the audience with so much to think about. At first, I thought that this might be a slow burn/ mystery type movie but no, there's nothing worthwhile shown. The actors lacked conviction just like the plot and cinematography feel bland. The core of the film is that some rich kids are going around, committing crimes, fucking around, and still, police can't catch them. It wasn't as if they were some masterminds or didn't leave any traces behind, the movie just wanted to glorify the background they've come from and didn't do justice to it too.

Final Score – [3.5/10]
