Action Thriller ‘Lou’ Gets Trailer and Release Date on Netflix

Netflix has revealed the first trailer and release date for the action-thriller movie, LOU. Starring Jurnee Smollett and Allison Janney, ‘Lou’ will release on September 23 on Netflix, worldwide.


In the trailer, a young girl is kidnapped. Her desperate mother (Jurnee Smollett) begs the mysterious woman, Lou (Janney), living next door (Allison Janney) to pursue the kidnapper. As a massive storm rages, both the women team up to get on a journey that tests their limits and exposes shocking secrets from their pasts.


The movie also stars Logan Marshall-Green, Ridely Asha Bateman, Greyston Holt, Matt Craven, Toby Levins, Marci T. House, Andres Collantes, and Jaycie Dotin.


Directed by Anna Foerster, the film not only features two women working together on-screen, but also a team of women behind the scenes, including screenwriter Maggie Cohn, producer Hannah Minghella Janney, and Smollett as executive producers. Also joining the team are Logan Marshall-Green, Ridley Asha Bateman, and producers Bad Robot’s J.J. Abrams and Jon Cohen.


Jurnee Smollett is known for playing Black Canary in DC's Birds of Prey, she is also getting her own movie titled, Black Canary. She has also starred in HBO's Lovecraft Country opposite Jonathan Majors.
