“Baby Reindeer” is a series that focuses on two individuals and their connection. The drama is the kind of drama that you never knew you needed. It tells the story of Donny Dunn and Martha.
I was not sure whether I should watch this drama series or not because, at first, I didn't feel like liking it after watching the preview on Netflix. But still, I thought of giving it a try. Well, as we believe in “Don't judge a book by its cover,” I can say that line is totally for this drama. At first, I was like, What's happening in this series? but then slowly, I got hooked on it. The series starts with a guy hurriedly entering the police station to file a complaint against a woman. He says that he is being chased by a woman, and that woman is stalking him.
The police believed his words and asked him to share more detailed information. After showing him the mail he got from his stalker, the police found it very weird because the messages were not threatening. Then and there, the flashback started to show. Donny Dunn is a stand-up comedian who works in a cafe and serves drinks to the customers. One day, a weird customer came to the cafe. That weird lady grabbed the attention of Donny as she was not ordering anything, and when Donny asked her what she would like to have, she said she couldn't afford anything. So, Donny offers her tea and tells her that it's from his side. Well, they slowly started to talk and build a conversation, and then their friendship built. But things start to get awkward for Donny when he realizes that Martha is actually coming every day and people are assuming her as his girlfriend.
When his friends said that they wanted him to introduce them, his girlfriend Martha got serious, as she kind of liked him. But Donny just handled the situation by cracking a joke. Soon, he realizes that Martha is sending him emails, and she finds them by stalking him on social media and websites. When Donny sees the aggressive behavior of Martha, he starts to follow her, as he's very curious to know what she's up to. But Martha finds out that Donny is following her. Donny tries to avoid Martha, but when he is doing his stand-up comedy show, Martha is the only one who laughs at his jokes and supports him. This gesture by Martha made Donny feel overwhelmed, and they again started to open up to each other. But things took an unexpected turn when Donny realized that Martha was actually a lawyer who was accused of stealing. She is a serial stalker and is kind of threatening; this makes Donny shake, and he tries to do everything to avoid Martha.
Do you think Donny's plans to avoid Martha went well? I was not only hooked on the plot but kind of scared too, because it was very intense and scary at the same time. I don't know whether you will like it the way I did, but I can assure you that the series will not bore you. You will surely enjoy it till the end.
