‘Carizzma’(2026) Netflix Series Review - Too Online to Cope

Caro Pardíaco’s life changes when she meets Leo. Will her life change for the better?

TV Shows Reviews

This has to be one of the most absurd, frantic satires about identity, internet fame, and the panic that comes when one hops into their thirties.  The plot revolves around Caro Pardíaco, a nightlife entrepreneur, streaming celebrity, and digital personality who, on the surface, appears to have it all figured out. But beneath all this lies a person who is grappling with life like any other ordinary person. Days before turning thirty, Caro begins spiraling into a crisis she cannot live-stream her way out of.

Here is what happens: Caro is planning the biggest birthday party of her life when she encounters Leo, a romantic interest, and throws her emotional stability into a frenzy. Leo is described as charming and dangerous, bringing unpredictability into her life, which turns into a comedy of errors.

There are many good things about the plot. First of all, it is very relatable to any person who is stepping into their thirties. The thirties are a time when one begins to settle down in life. And any unpredictability can turn life into a roller-coaster. That is exactly what happened with Caro when she met Leo. That thrill and uncertainty is something that anyone in their thirties can feel. This makes her character quite relatable to people. Even the influencer culture has been shown to us to understand.

However, not all works in favor of Carizzma. For example, this plot is highly predictable. There is nothing new that we are offered when we watch. Come to think of it, this is a typical case of a boy meeting a girl. And at one point, you will find nothing new as the plot progresses.

The comedy, too, feels forced. It doesn’t make you laugh. The characters don’t have good comic timing, making the entire thing feel boring. The truth is that you don’t want to watch something that feels artificial, and this is what happens throughout the runtime. Even the pacing is super slow. Anything that becomes sluggish doesn’t make a good plot. You won’t enjoy that while watching. In fact, after you fast-forward things, no progress comes through it. You might even question your decision to watch the plot.

The character development is next to nothing. Caro doesn’t show any maturity from the start to the end of the runtime. Even the role of Leo feels like a playboy who just wants to pass the time with Caro. The uncertainty that he brings doesn’t make sense most of the time.

The formatting is good. At a time when we hardly have the attention span to watch anything, each episode lasts for ten to eleven minutes. This makes it bearable to at least see and understand the plot of Caro. But even with that, a bit more content could have been added. The episodes feel oddly cut short in an attempt to make the time shorter.  As a result, the show ends up becoming a slow-paced, incomplete watch, which does make you want more.
