If you are someone who has loved watching reality shows, Outside is just what you need to watch. The show revolves around 12 content creators who are in the running to win £1 million, but that doesn’t come easily. Like many other reality shows, they have to fight and win their way to the money. There is chaos and lots of opinions on how to win the show. As of now, only the first episode has come out, but one can understand quite a lot. In the first episode, we are introduced to the creators who are influencers and live streamers. Some we have heard of, some we get to know while watching Outside.
The best thing about the show is the many tasks that we are shown. They are thrilling and make the episodes worth it. I can’t really wait to see what the next episodes bring. We also see the participants forced to make decisions that can really decide if they can make it through the next episodes. The question really is, who will win? Well, that is a bit early to decide just yet, with us having only the first episode out.
However, all is not good about Outside. Most of the tasks that we see feel repetitive. I somewhat feel that the reality show market has become saturated with so many shows going on and going. There is not a single country where we don’t see reality shows similar to Outside being aired. And as a global audience, we even watch those. The only difference is that this time around the participants happen to be influencers. Now this clearly comes across as a marketing bid. I am hoping that with the upcoming episodes we will get to see some originality in terms of tasks because if we don’t have it, this show is no different than what we see.
Having said that, as I mentioned before, if you are someone who really likes to watch shows like these, Outside can prove to be quite entertaining, especially with the fun banter that goes around with the influencers and content creators continuously talking and giving their input. That adds a lot of fun. Another thing that is fun to watch is how they react to their tasks. Some of the tasks are nerve-wracking, and I agree. They scare the living hell out of you. I am sure the upcoming episodes will also be filled with such things.
So, to describe Outside in a nutshell, it is a mix of comedy and challenges that each of these creators will have to deal with. As they say, the prize money is not small, which means nothing gets to the winner easily. Now, coming to the pacing, I don’t think reality shows have had issues with pacing. Here we see the tasks being performed, opinions being given. So there will be times when you forget that the concept of pacing is there in Outsider. But even if I keep that in mind, the pacing is moderate. It is not like the makers gave a lot of time to tasks and made it boring. Everything happens normally, and adequate time is given whenever needed. So in conclusion, dear readers, if you wish to watch a task-based reality show, Outsider is a must-watch.
