Netflix has confirmed the premiere date while also revealing the trailer for the Spanish-language comedy series ‘Alpha Males.’ ‘Alpha Males’ Season 2 will be released on February 9, 2024, on Netflix, worldwide.

The first season of Alpha Males released in 2022, was quick to enter into the top 10 list of Netflix shows. Created by brother-and-sister team Alberto and Laura Caballero, ‘Alpha Males’ is a comedy-drama series that follows four men in their 40s who begin to notice their male privilege disappearing with social change and the women's empowerment, and they are forced to adapt in their own way.

The second season of the hit comedy series produced by Contubernio Films will have 10 episodes. The second season was filmed between Madrid, Malaga, and Ibiza between March and May 2023.

Originally titled, Machos Alfa, the series stars Fernando Gil as Pedro Aguilar, María Hervás as Daniela Galván, Raúl Tejón as Raúl Camacho, Paula Gallego as Álex, Kira Miró as Luz, Gorka Otxoa as Santi, Fele Martínez as Luis Bravo, María Hervas, and Raquel Guerrero as Esther, who all are reprising their characters and are ready to experience new challenges trying to adapt to the new masculinity era.

Alpha Males has received mixed reactions from the audience and critics. It has an audience approval rating of 75% on Rotten Tomatoes and an average rating of 7.2 out of 10 on IMDb. The series was praised by critics for being both enjoyable and refreshing to watch. Even while it did dive into the topic of gender norms and masculinity, it did well to have a range of males/females portraying the various traditional tropes. We have also reviewed the show, and our critic rated it 7 out of 10. Our critic Ishita wrote, "The series is a tale of these four men learning what their specific blind spots are regarding how they view women and working to make positive changes that will make their lives better. As for the comedy, it works well and takes on an absurdist tone in certain situations, which makes the show more comical." Read the full review.

The 10-episode first season ended with three of the four friends breaking up with their long-term partners. They receive a certificate of attendance for attending lectures on deconstructing masculinity, but they are unsure whether it will benefit them. Season 2 is likely to delve more into the relationship and how are they going to deal with their breakups.

The series is written by Alberto Cabellero, Laura Caballero, Daniel Deorador, Araceli Álvarez de Sotomayor, and Carla Nigra, and Laura Caballero has also directed all the episodes. Contubernio Films and Netflix are behind the production of this series.
