‘Away’ follows Emma Green, a NASA astronaut who along with four other astronauts belonging to different countries, is all set to go on the first man – operated mission to Mars.

Away is a 10 episode long Netflix original series that is intriguing and a terrific space drama. Netflix has bought quite a lot of space dramas now like Another Life, Nightflyers, and Lost in Space, the latter is very famous.

Away is also very good, being a sci-fi follower, there is nothing new that the creators offer but, what is unique about this show is its realistic approach. They try to create a relatable environment for the audience to connect. The writers try to balance all the aspects of space issues and how these astronauts deal with it.

The show is not happy and sweet all the time, the crew face death at least 5 to 10 times but still try their best to get through.

One of the most interesting parts of the show is its characters' development. Lu, Misha, Kwesi, Ram, and Emma, by the end of the show, we get to know so many things about them that we start to relate to their stories.

The show has a lot of emotional and powerful performances which are pretty amazing and some fantastic dialogues.

Hillary Swank is a skilled actor, I have seen her in PS I love you in a completely different character and even here I loved her performance. Josh Charles is as amazing as Matt.

What didn’t work out in the show were some subplots that were highlighted again and again in these 10 episodes. So much that at one point you get tired of listening to that same problem again.

So, sci-fi fans here is another space-drama for you, and I want this show to get picked up for a season 2 because it has a powerful cast, brilliant VFX and CGI, and touching background scores.

Final Score – [8.5/10]
