Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F is about Axel and all his mischiefs. He's an officer in Detroit and the man isn't halted by his osteoporosis caused by old age. Neither his soul nor his body has aged a bit. In reality, he still believes he's in his twenties or thirties. The officers who joined him are ready to retire but he is busy coming up with plans to catch the bad people.

The film starts with him sitting in a hockey match and in just two minutes he's in a snowplow and damaging the public property. Despite all this chaos the man is able to catch the thieves. The movie continues, and we learn that this is not a new experience for him. All his colleagues know that if there's an incident like this then Axel will be behind it.

Jane (Axel’s daughter) is a lawyer in Beverly Hills. She has recently taken up a new client, Sam Enriquez. He's locked up for killing an officer and she's here to defend him. Jane wasn't aware that she'd be getting into so much trouble but playing with the fire is in the Foley blood. She might have changed her first name from Foley to Saunders yet she can't change the genes.

Upon hearing his daughter getting involved with a cartel Axel immediately came to help her. Jane was threatened and her life was literally hanging by a thread (or a wire in this case). The rest of the film is about finding out about Sam’s case and looking for the corruption in the Police department.

Can we all just take a moment and appreciate that damn helicopter scene. Detective Abbott and Axel get framed by Grant as cocaine is found in their car but what does this incredible duo do? They escaped the Police Station and also stole their helicopter. Abbott used to be a helicopter pilot so Axel being Axel came up with this ultimate idea of flying off in a helicopter however the twist is that Abbott gets anxious as in the past the man was involved in a helicopter crash. They were flying so close to the ground and when it finally had a hard landing, the duo pretended as if an old lady was still stuck inside.

I can go on and on about the stunts Axel Foley pulls still, what matters is that he knew how to get his job done. His daughter Jane pretended like she hadn't learned the tricks like getting herself free of handcuffs from her time but when the time came this trick saved her life.

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F isn't about finding who was behind framing Sam Enriquez as the answer to this question is answered in the first half itself. The movie is basically about cool cops who like to bend and break rules at their convenience to get the job done. There are two to three scenes in which Axel is seen telling Billy or another man how Abbott had ‘intercourse’ with her daughter. Now, these things get super weird cause when do you hear a dad casually talking about her having sex? Axel didn't even have to hear from Jane that she was involved with the man and that's what a father is. He didn't show how deeply he cared for his family and still every time there was a problem the man would literally come by the next flight.

In all, I loved Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F for its unbeatable action, unmissable humor that'll make you laugh aloud, and the damn smooth acting by Eddie Murphy and everyone else. There wasn't a single dialogue that missed its point and Eddie deserves so much praise. His character has a charm to it and even after the film is over, it'll stick in your mind. Axel has become an inspiration and I hope that someday I too get the courage to think of instant solutions (no matter what the consequences will be).

Final Score – [8/10]
