Netflix has confirmed the start of the production of Korean movie “Seoul Vibe” (Seoul Daejakjeon), an action blockbuster packed with thrills and adrenaline-fueled scenes. The streamer also confirmed the casting for the film including some big-name stars: Yoo Ah-in, Ko Kyoung-pyo, Lee Kyoo-hyung, Park Ju-hyun, Ong Seong-wu, Kim Sung-kyun, Jung Woong-in, and Moon So-ri. 


Seoul Vibe is an action-packed blockbuster revving with the pulse-pounding chase. The drivers of the Sanggye-dong Supreme Team become sank in the slush fund probe of a powerful person on the precious day of the 1988 Seoul Olympics opening ceremony. With all eyes of the world on Seoul with the pending Olympic Games, the turmoil in the city provides suitable timing for moving illegal funds. The special operation to chase the money spindles in baby drivers with marvelous drifting skills.


Below is the full description for the star-studded cast that has been confirmed to play the roles of these blazing hipsters blasting through Seoul full speed: 

 

Yoo Ah-in plays Dong-wook, the leader of the Sanggye-dong crew and top drifter. Yoo has been transforming himself through various roles in diverse genres, including the upcoming Netflix Original Series Hellbound. Yoo received the Best Actor award for his performance in Voice of Silence, at both the Blue Dragon Awards and the Baeksang Arts Awards. 


Ko Kyoung-pyo plays DJ John woo, someone who cheers up the mood for the Sanggye-dong crew. Ko gave notable performances in Private Lives, Don't Dare to Dream, Reply 1988, and Director Park Chan-wook’s upcoming film Decision to Leave. 


Lee Kyoo-hyung plays Bok-nam, who knows Seoul like the back of his hand. Lee is known for his character immersion in film productions and live performances, including shows such as Prison Playbook, Hi Bye, Mama!, and Stranger. 


Park Ju-hyun plays Dong-wook’s younger sister Yoon-hee, the charismatic president of Seoul's top bikers’ club. Park nabbed the Best New Actress award for her role in the Netflix Original Series Extracurricular at the Baeksang Arts Awards. Since then, she has been broadening her acting scope through roles in Zombie Detective and Mouse. 


Ong Seong-wu plays Joon-gi, who is somewhat old-fashioned in his ways, and the Sanggye-dong crew member who is very much like a younger brother to Dong-wook. Ong has been building up his film career with a series of roles in  Moment of Eighteen, More Than Friends, and two upcoming films Jung Family's Farm and Life is Beautiful. 


Kim Sung-kyun plays Secretary Lee, a key figure in maintaining the money laundering and slush fund delivery. Kim has appeared in The Fiery Priest, the Reply series and plays a charismatic role in the upcoming Netflix Original Series D.P. 


Jung Woong-in plays the chief prosecutor who enlists the Sanggye-dong crew for a vital mission. Jung is a seasoned stage performer and in front of the camera, with roles in Delayed Justice, Chief of Staff, Ice,  Woman of 9.9 Billion, and Richard III. 


Lastly, Moon So-ri plays Chief Kang In-sook, the loan shark mogul and the shadow figure in control behind the powerful person. Moon has shown outstanding performances in the Netflix Series The School Nurse Files and in films Three Sisters, Little Forest, The Running Actress, and The Handmaiden.


At the helm is director Moon Hyun-sung who has forged solid works with the films like The King's Case Note. Pumped up by the enthusiasm of the 1988 Seoul Olympics and the rhythmical beat of old-school hip hop, the Netflix film Seoul Vibe guarantees to drive up adrenaline levels with the thrill of the pursuit and old-fashioned drifting action.


The heart-racing thrill of Seoul Vibe will be released worldwide only on Netflix.
