Netflix has revealed the first trailer (watch above) for the upcoming Spanish-language series, ‘The Girl in the Mirror.’ The horror mystery-thriller originally titled Alma, will release on August 19 on Netflix, worldwide.
Created by Sergio G. Sánchez, The series follows Alma, who wakes up in a hospital after surviving a bus accident in which almost all her classmates die. She has no memory of the incident or her past. Her house is filled with memories that aren't hers, and both amnesia and trauma cause her to have night terrors and images she can't explain. She will strive to solve the mystery surrounding the accident with the help of her unknown parents and friends while struggling to reclaim her life and identity.
The main cast includes Mireia Oriol as Alma, Alex Villazán, Pol Monen, Claudia Roset, Elena Irureta, Javier Morgade, Nil Cardoner, María Caballero, and Milena Smit. The cast is completed by Marta Belaustegui, Katia R. Borlado, Ximena Vera, Josean Bengoetxea, Cándido Uranga, Raúl Tejón, Celia Sastre, Laura Ubach, and Alejandro Serrano.
‘The Girl in the Mirror’ is also the first Netflix production filmed in the Principality of Asturias. The series began production in September 2020 and finished in February 2021.
The series is created by the Asturian Sergio G. Sánchez and directed by himself and Kike Maíllo. Beleń Atienza, Sandra Hermida, and Jesús de la Vega are the producers.
