Netflix action, thriller film “Wheelman” director Jeremy Rush has got his next assignment in action-thriller ‘Retrograde’ set in space. This will be his second feature film.
Mark Mazur has penned the script for Retrograde. The story is set after a nuclear war has erupted between the U.S. and Russia. It follows six astronauts aboard the International Space Station who are ordered to seize control of the facility from their foreign colleagues by any means necessary.
Mandalay Pictures and Juniper Productions are jointly producing the film. Previously these two companies teamed on supernatural drama ‘Nine Days,’ which debuted at Sundance this year and was picked up by Sony Pictures Classics.
Jason Michael Berman, Will Raynor and Patrick Raymond of Mandalay are on producing duties with Matthew Lindner of Juniper.
Mandalay also produced Prentice Penny’s Netflix pic Uncorked and its upcoming work includes WWII pic The Last Ridge and the Melissa Leo and Zazie Beetz-starring Shelter.
Jeremy Rush has previously written and directed Netflix action thriller film “Wheelman” with Frank Grillo in the lead role. The film earned an average response from the audience which was really impressive for a director’s debut film.
Rush is represented by CAA and Grandview. Mazur is represented by Zero Gravity Management.
