Live-Action ‘Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead’ Gets Trailer and Release Date on Netflix

Netflix has revealed a new trailer for their upcoming Japanese-Language movie, ‘Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead.’ The live-action adaptation of the hit manga series written by Haro Aso, “Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead” will release on August 3, 2023, on Netflix, worldwide.

The latest trailer gives the first look at the zombie shark in all its ferocious, snapping glory. As per Netflix, The live-action “Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead” encountered various problems, including multiple outdoor scenes, zombie modeling, and large-scale action sequences, and the zombie shark was the most difficult of them all. “The chance to transform a shark into a zombie and transport it onto land was too intriguing to pass up,” said producer Akira Morii. “The preparation and work itself were extremely challenging, but the thrill of being able to accomplish such a feat exceeded the difficulty.”

The horror-comedy follows overworked office worker Akira (Eiji Akaso) who, in the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse, is more excited about not having to go to work than frightened about fending off the undead. Deciding to live life to the full, he comes up with making a list of 100 things to accomplish before turning into a zombie and begins on a quest to cross them off alongside Shizuka (Mai Shiraishi) and Kencho (Shuntaro Yanagi).

In the film, Akira Tendo (Eiji Akaso) works for an exploitative corporation, where he works long hours and is harassed by his boss. After spending more days feeling dead than alive, he awakens to find his town destroyed and overrun by zombies, and he becomes pleased at the idea of not having to go to work anymore. After seeing an older coworker he looked up to turn into a zombie, he realizes that if he can't achieve what he wants, he'd rather be eaten by zombies. Akira creates a bucket list of 100 things he wants to do before turning into a zombie. As he enjoys stay-at-home camping, paragliding, SUP yoga, and other long-held ambitions, he crosses these items off his list. What will happen to him as he joyfully goes about his life in the midst of a zombie apocalypse?! And, while he strives to become a superhero that rescues everyone, what will happen when he faces up against a giant and lethal zombie shark!?

Directed by Yusuke Ishida from a screenplay written by Tatsuro Mishima, the cast includes Eiji Akaso, Mai Shiraishi, Shuntaro Yanagi, Doronz Ishimoto, Yui Ichikawa, Mukau Nakamura, Mayo Kawasaki, Akari Hayami, Miwako Kakei, Kurumi Nakata, Shota Taniguchi, Kenta Satoi, and Kazuki Kitamura.
