Paramount Picture has revealed the first trailer for the Hollywood drama, Babylon, which shows some wild party scenes set in 1920. Starring Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt, Diego Calva, and Tobey Maguire, ‘Babylon’ will release in theaters on December 23, 2022, in the US and January 6, 2023, in the rest of the world.
The trailer is a non-stop party and rollicking jazz. Robbie plays an ambitious up-and-comer who wants “everyone to party forever.” Pitt plays reckless mega-star Jack Conrad, who says, "You know what we have to do? We must reinvent the form, outline those dreams, and inscribe them in history. Say, "Eureka!" "I'm not alone," I thought immediately before falling backward from a balcony.
From Damien Chazelle, Babylon is an original epic set in 1920s Los Angeles led by Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, and Diego Calva, with an ensemble cast including Jovan Adepo, Li Jun Li, and Jean Smart. A tale of outsized ambition and outrageous excess, it traces the rise and fall of multiple characters during an era of unbridled decadence and depravity in early Hollywood.
Chazelle directs from a screenplay written by himself. Cast also includes P.J. Byrne, Lukas Haas, Olivia Hamilton, Max Minghella, Rory Scovel, Katherine Waterston, Flea, Jeff Garlin, Eric Roberts, Ethan Suplee, Samara Weaving, and Olivia Wilde.
Babylon is a Marc Platt/Wild Chickens/Organism Pictures Production. Platt, Matthew Plouffe, and Olivia Hamilton are producers, with Michael Beugg, Maguire, Wyck Godfrey, Helen Estabrook, and Adam Siegel serving as executive producers.
