There are some Korean dramas that you never get enough of and this new series is going to be a part of that list. What do K-drama fans yearn the most for? Well, this show is here to remind you all of that.

My Demon in many scenes reminded me of Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (2016) like the first scene in which the female lead was running and the demon emerged out of the mist. Also, can we say how the show has nailed its opening and closing scenes of the first episode?

The series is about Do Do-hee, a heiress to a very wealthy group. She isn’t liked by her family members because she’s adopted. While everyone is busy ruining things for the group, she is the one working hard to make the company successful. The devil, Jung Gu-won, is a demon who is known to make deals with humans in exchange for their souls.

Be it the exquisite clocks, Song Kang’s looks, Kim Yoo-jung’s bubbly character, and the side character’s humor everything makes you fall in love with the show. Further breaking things off for our readers, this time Song Kang is again able to leave an impression on the audience. If looks could kill, he is a serial killer. I’m in awe of his versatility as an actor, after watching his various titles, I’m fully convinced that this young actor was born to be a star.

Kim Yoo-jung’s character Do Do-hee matches the vibes of Jung Gu-won. While he is a ruthless demon, she has an honest and childish soul. The scenes in which they share the screen are magical. Their first encounter in the restaurant was phenomenal. The writers need to be applauded for the balance they maintained in action, romance, mystery, and 200-year-old stories as well. The side characters hold the same charm.

I’m amazed at how much the pilot episode covered. It was in the final moments of the episode that I felt the craving to continue watching the series. I’m disappointed with why the makers decided to drop just one episode and why it wasn’t the whole series altogether.

While I searched for the synopsis of My Demon before watching it, it stated “Jin Ga-young: The series depicts the story of a contract marriage between Do Do-hee (Kim Yoo-jung), the devilish successor of an empire, and Jung Gu-won (Song Kang), a demon who temporarily loses his powers. This momentary loss brings them fleeting happiness but ultimately leads to hell.” This will leave the audience in splits because it’s almost confirmed that the show will have a sad ending. Why did they have to spoil the fun before releasing all the episodes?

In my opinion, this is a great series that is going to keep the audience on the edge of their seats. As there are a total of sixteen episodes, we can expect a lot of humor and romance. At the end of the first episode, it was shown that the devil’s tattoo was transferred to our young heir of the Mirae group. This means that now the demon is in trouble and has to quickly establish a deal to regain control of his powers.

Final Score – [8/10]
