Netflix has revealed the first trailer for its upcoming Korean sci-fi series “Sisyphus.” Labeled as "JTBC's 10th Anniversary Special Drama", the series is coming to Netflix on February 17.
The series, which also known as “Sisyphus: The Myth,” tells the story of a genius engineer named Han Tae-sul who tries to uncover the truth behind his older brother's death, and an elite warrior called Kang Seo-hae who travels back in time to help him.
Earlier, Netflix also acquired the rights for the Korean sci-fi film ‘Space Sweepers,’ which premiered last week. By reading the official synopsis of ‘Sisyphus,’ it seems very similar to the base story of Terminator.
"Sisyphus: The Myth" is a science fiction mystery drama produced by Jin Hyeok from "Shining Inheritance", "Prosecutor Princess", "City Hunter", "Doctor Stranger", "The Legend of the Blue Sea" and others. The series is written by Jeon Chan-ho and Lee Je-in.
The series lead stars are Cho Seung-woo and Park Shin-hye, who are collaborating for the first time in a TV series. It also stars Sung Dong-il as President Park, Tae In-ho as Eddie Kim, Chae Jong-hyup as Sun, Jeon Gook-hwan, Heo Joon-seok as Han Tae-san, Tae Won-seok as Yeo Bong-sun, Jung Ha-joon as Sun-ho, Lee Si-woo as Bing-bing, Go Yoon as Jung Hyun-ki, Cho Seok-hyun as Ahn Jang-ri, Kim Jong-tae as Kang Dong-ki, and Yang Joon-mo as Choi Yeon-sik.
Cho Seung-woo is playing Han Tae-sool, who is the co-founder of Quantum and Time, a global company and a genius engineer who can assemble and disassemble almost anything. He is a person who tries to clarify his existence. Han Tae-sool is a character with many stories and many charms that cannot be defined only as a genius engineer.
Park Shin-hye plays the role of Kang Seo-hae, a warrior who glides through high-rise buildings in Seoul with just a rope and beats big men with her bare hands.
Lee Si-woo-III will play Bing Bing, an employee at the Asia Mart where President Park, who is played by Sung Dong-il, gives the orders. Lee Si-woo-III is expected to be integral when it comes to establishing the tone of Asia Mart, which is an important recurring setting in the drama.
Tae In-ho plays the character Eddie Kim, co-founder of Quantum and Time, and Han Tae-seul's pacemaker. From social personality to gentlemanly dignity, he's armed with perfection and is determined to grow Quantum and Time into a global company. He is very proud of the company's growth through constant motivation while encouraging Han Tae-seul. Meanwhile, he gets caught up in an unexpected incident and stands at the center of the situation.
Yang Joon-mo appears as Choi Yeon-sik, a character who faithfully performs his duties as an agent of the Secret Intelligence Agency and has a responsible and rough personality.
Chae Jong-hyeop takes on the role of Sseon, a man who goes to Seoul to support his mother and younger brother in his hometown and gets a job in Buheunglu because he doesn't want to farm in his hometown. He is involved in an unexpected incident when he meets Seo-hae by chance while working at a Chinese restaurant. Sseon, who has a soft and slick personality, will revitalize the play by emitting the charm of a powerful younger man towards Seo-hae.
