Unicorn Academy season 2 doesn't instantly pick up on the note the first season bid us goodbye. I thought that it would start intensely with Sophia finding her dad, and it does take time to build up a good plot. I was all in for what the writers and the animators had to show with their overall thrilling and educating plot.

The series begins with a rift between River and Isabel. We've always known this rider to be competitive, and when she took part in a fun activity competition, her unicorn didn't participate in it. There was a shadow lurking in the academy with his eyes set on a unicorn or any unicorn. Failing to get bonded to a unicorn, Danny was expelled from the school and when he saw the opportunity, he used magic to bond with River. This wasn't natural and Isabel immediately came to the rescue.

Just like River and Isabel, we also get to see rifts between Storm and Rory. The same was also noticed between Layla and Glacier. All of them were able to overcome their difficulties and didn't let the bond escape. The main difficulty was shared by Sophia and Wildstar. After the unicorn constellation showed up, many things changed and Wildstar started to behave differently. The unicorn shared his dream of the events that happened in the past with Miles (Sophia's father) five years ago, and Sophia figured out a way to bring her dad back.

The plan involves doing risky things and the audience will like this turbulent ride which ends on a happy note. Not much can be commented about the next season still, the fight is going to get tougher. The unicorns have assembled great new powers which means just one thing and that is the Sapphire dorm residents have new tricks up their sleeves and won't back down in the face of adversity. The sophomore year is going to feature a lot more enemies, and all the characters have learned their lesson by now. The show awaits to answer all the questions that were held hanging in the first season, and it also has given us concerns.

In my opinion, this series deserves multiple more seasons. The audience wants more of the unicorns and the riders' magic. As the previous season ended with successfully eliminating a threat to this magic island, the second season followed in its footsteps but with more intense and gruesome fights. Sapphire dorm is always on rescue whenever an enemy gets its eyes on the academy.

However, when an enemy is lingering in the academy's premises, where do the other students go? It's not as if they're on the campus so why doesn't any other dorm student or even the seniors come to show their skills? This question stuck to my mind and maybe there's not an explanation currently, and future seasons will dwell on this suggestion.

In totality, you can surely binge-watch this series with the kids around you, and they'll get to learn some important lessons. The growth of the show increased but with teeny-tiny steps. The kids will love the characters and the love they share for many things.

Final Score – [8/10]
