Scarlet Witch Solo Project Reportedly in the Works at Marvel Studios

After a few rumors regarding a Scarlet Witch solo project surfaced last month, scooper MTTSH and Charles Murphy have claimed that there is indeed a Solo Scarlet Witch project in the works at Marvel.

According to Murphys Multiverse, Scarlet Witch is rumored to begin production sometime in 2023. The website claims to hear this info from multiple sources and they are also speculating a Fall 2024 release for the project. However, they are not confirming whether it will be a Feature Film or TV Series on Disney+.

Wanda has already got her Disney+ TV Show, WanadaVision, which also involved Vision, but it was all about Wanda and ended up setting Scarlet Witch in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So, it is likely that her next Solo project could be a Movie.

Elizabeth Olsen is reprising her role as Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch in the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. This will be her first appearance where she will primarily be the all-powerful Scarlet Witch - who is much more powerful than the Sorcerer Supreme. Scarlet Witch is the primary villain of the film, where we are expected to see multiple variants of her.

In the post-credit of WanadaVision finale, Wanda can be seen reading the Darkhold to resurrect her children or to find a way to reach them. While grieving, she has taken the form of Scarlet Witch and willing to go to any length to find her children, who are not even part of this universe.

The plot of her solo project depends on where her character ends up in Multiverse of Madness. As per our theory, She might not be the true villain of Doctor Strange 2 and there could be someone else pulling the strings as Wanda is being blinded by the sorrow of her lost children (imaginary) after the events that occurred in Westview.

A solo TV Series based on the character of Agatha Harkness is already in development officially. Scarlet Witch is also rumored to be part of it. This new rumored project on Scarlet Witch could combine the events of Agatha's TV Series and Multiverse of Madness movie.

In the comics, the Scarlet Witch was trained by Agatha Harkness to explore her naturally powerful magical abilities. However, in the MCU, Agatha has been already introduced as she fought Wanda to unleash the chaos magic and use it for herself.

In the comics, Scarlet Witch obtained powerful reality-altering skills from "Chaos Magic," but this revealed to be an uncontrollable component of her mutant talent, causing her severe mental strain. Wasp's accidental remark about Wanda's lost children pushed her over the line. She had a nervous breakdown and unleashed her new power on the Avengers, causing a vicious assault and apparently killing Agatha Harkness and some of her teammates. Others were hurt or impacted by unusual outbursts and happenings, such as Vision, who was murdered by She-Hulk after he assaulted the Avengers after Wanda caused him to lose control of his actions.

Unfortunately, Professor X  was unable to help her since Wanda was attempting to resurrect her husband and undo the devastation she had caused. Keeping Wanda in a coma, Xavier eventually convened a conference of the Avengers and X-Men to decide whether or not Wanda should be killed. Quicksilver was outraged that Xavier was actually considering killing Wanda and persuaded her to take drastic measures to prevent this from happening: Wanda twisted reality into the House of M, a world where mutants were the majority, humans were the minority, and Magneto was the ruler.

Professor X will appear in the Multiverse of Madness and might see "House of M" becoming a reality in the MCU. But, we need to wait for the official announcement of Scarlet Witch getting her solo project.
