Netflix has officially renewed the Spanish-language series, ‘Rebelde’ for Season 2. The second season will continue from where it left in the 8-episode first season finale when Luka tells his father that he has another son.

The announcement came via a video of the cast (watch above), where they are singing a Rebelde song on the stage.

The first season of ‘Rebelde’ released on Netflix on January 5 this year, has impressed the fans. This is the main reason why the show got the early second season renewal. Rebelde, the classic young adult soap opera, returns to Elite Way School, now known as EWS, the international boarding school where the now legendary RBD was born. A new generation of kids is enrolling in the school, hoping to enter the famed music program and win the Battle of the Bands to become musical stars.

The official synopsis for the series says, "Welcome to the EWS, a prominent boarding school where the rigorous road to stardom is not for the faint of heart. Rebelde is a reimagining of the popular teen soap opera that spawned separate telenovelas in Argentina and Mexico in the early 2000s. Rebelde evolves within the halls of Elite Way School, directed by Santiago Limón and Yibran Asaud, with a new generation of students, plots, and characters (plus a few familiar ones that longtime fans will recognize). Rebelde follows a group of students as they compete to win EWS' Battle of the Bands, the important musical contest for them to excel in the start of their musical careers, throughout eight episodes. Along the way, love and friendship bloom between them while a mysterious secret society casts a shadow over their dreams of becoming the next big music star."

The series stars Azul Guaita as Jana Cohen, Franco Masini as Luka Colucci, Sergio Mayer Morias Estebán, Andrea Chaparro as M.J., Alejandro Puente as Sebastián Langarica-Funtanet, Jeronimo Cantillo as Dixon, Lizeth Selene as Andi, and Giovanna Grigio as Emilia.
