Netflix has revealed the first trailer for the Italian-language series ‘The Lying Life of Adults.’ Based on the latest novel by Elena Ferrante, ‘The Lying Life of Adults’ will release on January 4, 2023, on Netflix, worldwide.

"When you are little, everything seems big. When you are big, everything seems nothing.” A quote that sums up Giovanna's story: her journey from teenage, when every obstacle appears insurmountable, to adulthood, when she discovers her family's falsehoods while finding an unprecedented Naples.

The series follows Giovanna's (Giordana Marengo) transition from childhood to adolescence in Naples which is actually two kindred cities that fear and loathe each other: the upper crust Naples of the high quarters, where a mask of refinement is worn, and the Naples of its more profane and exciting low quarters, where her interesting aunt Vittoria lives.

The series is directed by Neapolitan helmer Edoardo De Angelis and stars Valeria Golino in the role of the Neapolitan aunt of the story’s young protagonist named Giovanna, played by Giordana Marengo. Alessandro Preziosi plays Giovanna’s father, Andrea, and Pina Turco plays her mother, Nella.

The highly anticipated six-episode series is written by Ferrante, Francesco Piccolo, Laura Paolucci, and Edoardo De Angelis, and produced by Fandango.
