‘The Night My Dad Saved Christmas 2’ (2025) Netflix Movie Review - Cute for the Kids

So we have yet another Christmas movie because it is the season. This one, however, is a good one that you will see in a very long time. The Night My Dad Saved Christmas 2 starts with Salva Molina, a former thief who is trying his level best to become a better father to his teenage son, Lucas. Now, this is also a very typical plot of a Christmas movie where a parent is trying to become a better version of themselves for the sake of their kids. This Christmas seems to be different and peaceful, which is giving them ample change to bond. However, things start to change when the festival is threatened by an evil, powerful toy-maker company named Planet Toys. This company is led by Candela Iriarte, who kidnaps Santa Claus. Not only that, Santa Claus is replaced by an actor because, of course, the spirit of Christmas has to be shown to the world. All this is done to commercialize Christmas. They also put the Elves under a strict regime and made them toil under hard conditions. All this is not supposed to happen with the old Santa and his wonderful environment for everyone, which makes Christmas what it actually is. Now, Lucas and his father have one mission this Christmas, and that is to rescue Santa and stop Planet Toys. They are not alone while doing this, as they are joined by former allies from Lucas’s father’s past, as well as a centuries-old Elf. The question is: will they be able to save Christmas and stop Planet Toys?

All in all, I found the plot to be very cute. It is definitely something you can watch with family and kids, particularly. It is funny and really worth watching. All the characters are also very pleasing to watch. And for sure, it serves the Christmas spirit. Now I know, some of you might think that the plot is predictable, and yes, it is. But the execution of the plot is super sweet. And sometimes you need these season-specific movies.  Overall, too, the vibes sent out are heart-warming, and it makes you feel Christmastime. It also tells us what Christmas is all about.

The cast does a good job. For example, Ernesto Sevilla as Salva Molina fits in the role perfectly. Then, Unax Hayden as Lucas also does justice to what he is giving to the audience. To be honest, I was tired of seeing love story-based plots coming out this season. And while some of us might like it, I personally got bored. So this plot was really fun and cute to watch. It showed a pure father-son relationship trying to save Santa and Christmas. So if you are someone who likes watching something like that, this movie is worth watching. I am sure, just like me, you will like it too. And most importantly, the kids will like it.
