‘The Queen’s Gambit’ is about Beth Harmon, who is sent to an orphanage after her mother dies in an accident, she develops a keen interest in chess after she sees Mr. Shaibel playing chess at the basement of the orphanage.

The Queen’s Gambit is a terrific limited series that is bought by Netflix. It is based on the books by Walter Trevis.

The story is set in the era of the 1960s, the US also around the time when JFK was assassinated. The entire 7 episodes, each an hour-long is an enticing watch.

I don't know how to play chess, but this series inspired me to learn some. The entire setting of the show is marvelous.

Anya Taylor, who plays the lead role of Beth Harmon, blends in with the character very well. In each episode, as she leads the game and starts penetrating in a region where only gentlemen play was a great watch. When she reaches Russia to play chess, she enters a territory where chess players were excellent; the best in the world was a spectacle.

Series and movies based on games and sports have a different vibe on themselves, they will always impress you, and The Queen's Gambit is one of them.

The story is character-driven, big production, and impactful, with such a powerful story and dazzling cast, this show had to be a success.

The trope of sportsperson story is very much followed here, there is a rise and then a peak and then a fall. They present the entire story very well.

Final Score – [8.5/10]
