After jumping from a helicopter in the previous episode, Rick and Michonne arrive at a posh apartment in this fourth episode. They are greeted by a polite robotic voice that assures them their preferred temperature will be reached in ten minutes. This is the only calm voice you hear in this episode for a while. The couple verbally clashes with each other while the thunder crashes outside dramatically. What do they argue about? Michonne wants Rick to come with her to their home. Rick wants to stay behind to protect Michonne. The dark clouds and the thunderstorms take rest when the conflict is temporarily halted with an "I love you." The sunlight coming through the window gives you the impression that Rick and Michonne have arrived at the same level. Roll credits.

What's the hurry? Rick soon brings things to square one. The weather outside becomes pleasant, but the storm raging within the premises will not dissipate without effort. After much argument, Michonne gets fed up and decides to leave alone. "You are lying, and you'll see it, and it'll be too late," she says before storming out of the apartment. She momentarily pauses in the corridor while Rick stands near the door. Yet, neither does she retrace her steps nor does he open the door to follow her. Perhaps some conflicts can never be solved. Roll credits.

Wait, don't arrive at a conclusion too quickly. Rick, after all, is unable to keep himself from going after his wife. He grabs Michonne and jumps away from broken glasses and falling debris. The gears shift towards the action side as the Walkers are defeated by this duo of husband and wife. Good for them, they did their "killing zombies with a stick" exercise in the city. It sure does help them as they break the heads of the undead creatures with a rod, and that too simultaneously at one point, though instead of nodding at each other, they bitterly mention, "I had this."

Episode 4 comes with a mixture of drama and action. The latter part is merely okayish because we never doubt the characters will ever get overpowered by the zombies. The former aspect, though, is entertaining and even elevates the fight scenes through the couple's bickering. What this fourth episode also does is remind us that The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is less of a zombie thriller and more of a romantic drama. It's about the reunion of two people who desperately wanted to be with each other for a long time. Of course, Rick and Michonne come to the same page eventually. Their bitterness collapses along with the building. Roll credits.

Final Score - [7/10]
