The highlights come through former Green Bay Packers general manager Ron Wolf, who has seen Brett all through his early days to now in his stardom. Through him, we come to know about Favre’s raw talent and how it was molded into a successful career. We also see that through the interviews, people who have known Fvare tell us how some of his personal decisions impacted his own reputation. Not to mention, the infamous sexual harassment scandal that tarnished his years of reputation. Thus, the documentary has a balanced approach to showcasing the life of this NFL player. Clearly, the makers aren’t afraid to call a spade a spade. The scandal is something that cannot be taken out of the narrative of his life. Thus, adding it shows that the life of Favre was covered in full. The makers don’t stop here. His alleged involvement in the embezzlement of funds in the Mississippi welfare funds is also shown in great detail. So by now, you know in full the life of Brett and why he is a controversial player.
Untold: The Fall of Favre goes beyond the success of Brett to give us a true picture of his life. Yes, it does focus on the good things that he has experienced in life. But that doesn’t mean that his fall hasn’t been documented properly or not shown at all.
When it comes to packing, the documentary is fast-paced. It managed to keep us intrigued right from the start to the end. The plot unfolds very systematically to shed light and delve properly into the happenings of the event, including the scandal he was involved in. Therefore, there is a sequencing that is made. It doesn’t leave you confused, even when so much information is sent out.
Whether you are a Packers fan or a fan of Favre, this documentary gives a gripping, well-rounded interplay of fame, rise, and personal downfall. It’s worth a watch to understand the complexities that life offers to an individual,l even if you are a top-ranked quarterback.
