There was a point in this docu-series where, while watching it, I did think to myself, “Why did Netflix make this?” Sometimes Netflix does come up with docuseries, which, to me, are pointless. But here we are with another one. To describe what a documentary is about is hard. Not because it's complex, but because whatever I will be writing ahead is something we all know thanks to Victoria’s social presence.

So it goes without saying that this documentary is about Victoria Beckham and her life. With anecdotes from her star footballer husband, mother, and friends, we are shown the real woman Victoria is. And mind you, it is no different from what we already know about her. The docuseries starts with her clippings from her days as a Spice Girl, and boom! In no time, another clipping is added, which is the news of her engagement to David Beckham. And here I thought I would get to see the fashion icon, the business tycoon that Victoria Beckham is. But no, right at the start, we are reminded who she is married to. Over the course of the three episodes, we see the rigorous work she does, the way she puts herself into the business, and her bond with the children. All this plus past clippings from her marriage and frequent entries of David Beckham. She also takes us through her childhood and tells us that she was more of a loner. But things changed when she met her girl gang at Spice Girls. Most of us have seen her with a grumpy face. To that, Victoria Beckham explains that she is always smiling internally, which isn’t visible to us. Moving ahead, the sacrifices she made for David’s career and raising her kids are told to us, which should make us believe that she is a great wife and a great mother. But who doubted that ever? Then again, she gives us a glimpse of her business empire, which she built with her hard work and creativity, and how the fashion industry was really snobbish to her. So that’s pretty much what the three episodes cover.

Now, dear readers, while you read this, tell me one thing: which part of the entire reading did you feel was new information about Victoria Beckham that you weren’t aware of before? Her being a Spice Girl- you knew. Her marriage to David Beckham- you knew. She is from the Spice Girls, you know. Her fashion business- you knew. So all in all, you knew everything. However, if you wish to see her lavish lifestyle and her story from her own mouth, you should watch it. Otherwise, as such, there’s no point in watching or even making the show. I don’t know why it was made, but now that it is made, there is no harm in trying if you are absolutely free. Another thing is that at one point, you just feel like an outsider who is watching Victoria Beckham’s life. I am not sure if that is the format the makers wished to follow, but I for once felt that the docuseries was going directionless on its own with no specific reason as to why we are shown the particular scene. So really, though, what is it? What is happening? Nothing. It also feels that instead of making a documentary on herself, Victoria Beckham could have just given an interview to Vogue because, honestly, that’s exactly how Page 3 this documentary is.  It is just her life that we are seeing. Hence, my advice to you, dear reader, is to watch only if you know her. You won’t be missing out on anything if you pass it.

Final Score- [4/10]
