Netflix has revealed the first trailer for the second season of the Spanish-language series, ‘Welcome to Eden.’ The mystery thriller, ‘Welcome to Eden’ will release on April 21, 2023, on Netflix worldwide.


In the second season, With the island filled with new threats and no chance of escape, the rebellion unleashes an all-out battle for freedom while Astrid continues her plans for a New Eden.


In ‘Welcome to Eden’ Season 2, mystery and danger at the island continue to grow as Eden Foundation welcomes new characters played by Carlos Torres (The Queen of Flow) and Nona Sobo (Entrevías), who join the series’ cast. Amaia Aberasturi (Akelarre), Amaia Salamanca (Despite everything), Belinda Peregrín, Berta Castañé, Lola Rodríguez (Veneno), Sergio Momo (Élite), Begoña Vargas (High Seas), Tomy Aguilera (SKAM Spain), Guillermo Pfening (Foodie Love), Diego Garisa, Lucía Guerrero (Grupo 7), Carlos Soroa, Dariam Coco e Irene Dev among others, are the returning characters from the first season.


oaquín Górriz (Desaparecidos) y Guillermo López (Atrapada) have written all the episodes for this second season, directed by Denis Rovira (La influencia) and Juanma Pachón (Heridas) and produced by Brutal Media.


In the finale of the first season, Bel, Eloy, and Eva create a distraction in order to give Zoa and Charly enough time to flee; Charly makes it to the boat in time, but Mayka decides not to report him. However, Ulises captures Zoa and violently chokes her until Ibón comes to her defense and drowns Ulises, much to his and Zoa's horror; Eloy witnesses this and hides the body under the sea. However, just as Zoa is about to flee, she is surprised to see Gaby has arrived on the island. The season ended with an aerial zooming shot.


The first season of the Spanish-language series, which was released on May 6, 2022, accumulated a viewership of 116 million hours in its first 28 days. It was also in the Top 10 Netflix shows at the time of its release in 68 countries including Spain, France, Germany, Turkey, Argentina, Mexico, and Brazil.


The YA mystery drama series received mixed reactions from critics and audiences. Some called it a must-watch thriller, while some termed it a regular YA drama which is the same as many others already available on the streamer. The second season will certainly raise the expectations in terms of the story, so it will be interesting to see if it beats out the first season's record.
