Netflix has released the first trailer for its live-action family film “A Babysitter's Guide To Monster Hunting” which stars Tom Felton as the main antagonist. Directed by Rachel Talalay, the film will premiere globally on October 15th only on Netflix.
A Babysitter's Guide to Monster Hunting is the second family-friendly adaptation from Walden Media at Netflix, following The Baby-Sitter's Club series. The screenplay is written by Joe Ballarini based on his novel.
The film is about first-time babysitter Kelly Ferguson who reluctantly agrees to babysit on Halloween, when kidnapped by the Boogeyman, she discovers a secret society of fierce babysitters who protect children — and an entire world of monsters she will have to fight in order to save him.
The film is produced by Ivan Reitman for The Montecito Picture Company and Amie Karp. Naia Cucukov for Walden Media, Tom Pollock for The Montecito Picture Company, and Ilona Herzberg are executive producers.
Apart from Tom Felton, the cast also includes Tamara Smart (Artemis Fowl), Oona Laurence (Lost Girls), Alessio Scalzotto (Rim of the World), Ian Ho (A Simple Favour) with Indya Moore (Pose).
