The third season of the horror-thriller series Chucky, which has been filming since late April has officially paused production this Wednesday. The development comes with the ongoing writers' strike and SAG-AFTRA actors' strike for better pay which began on July 14. This is when a possible IATSE strike is also looming, and probably by the end of the week, we might see their members joining the picket lines.

‘Chucky’ Season 3 has been filming since April 26, 2023, in Toronto, Canada, and was expected to wrap next month on August 28. This delay might also hamper the timeline of the release as NBC Universal has teased the third season to premiere in Fall 2023. Although there were only five weeks left to complete filming on Season 3, we don't know if the network will divide the third season into two parts to get their schedule right. A teaser that teases the Fall 2023 release date for Season 3 has already been revealed.

Meanwhile, Studios are waiting out on the writer's strike and are not interested in talks, while they are also calling the actor's demand for fair wages unrealistic. There is a deadlock for sure and it might continue for months, but surely a trillion-dollar industry cannot go on break forever. And it is the studios, who need to show a big heart to give the artists a fair deal. But as of now, apart from the various picket lines, we are not seeing any positive outcomes.

“Chucky,” which comes from Universal Studio Group’s UCP division, is a continuation of the film franchise about the killer doll, “Chucky.” The series stars include Zackary Arthur as Jake Wheeler, Björgvin Arnarson as Devon Evans, Alyvia Alyn Lind as Lexy Cross, Jennifer Tilly as Tiffany Valentine, Alex Vincent as Andy Barclay, Christine Elise as Kyle, Devon Sawa as Father Bryce, Lachlan Watson as Glen and Glenda Tilly, Fiona Dourif as Nica Pierce, and Brad Dourif as the voice of Chucky / Charles Lee Ray.

Don Mancini is behind this series as writer, director, and showrunner. Executive producers are Mancini, Nick Antosca, Alex Hedlund, David Kirschner, and Jeff Renfroe. The series premieres on SyFy and USA in the US.

Chucky follows the murderous adventures of the notorious killer doll. Chucky crosses paths with archenemies, old allies, and new prey, as he seeks to inspire fear and mayhem wherever he goes.
