‘Cobra Kai’ Season 3 Now Arriving this New Year’s Day on Netflix

After delaying a bit, Netflix has given a new year surprise to every “Cobra Kai” fan by launching the third season a week earlier than the originally planned date of January 8. Now, all the episodes of season 3 will arrive this new year's day on January 1. 

The new release date was revealed today via video (watch above) with William Zabka’s Johnny Lawrence sitting at his computer looking at the Netflix page for Cobra Kai. He sees that January 8 as the release date for Season 3. He says, “Nah, too long” and switches the date to January 1. "I heard you all whining about Season 3 taking forever. So I called the pawnshop and the guy walked me through this Netflix thing. The dude knows his stuff. Now you get it a week early. See you on New Year's, nerds." - Johnny Lawrence

Earlier in October, the series was renewed for season 4 by Netflix. The show from The Karate Kid film franchise from Sony Pictures Television started its run at YouTube Premium before moving to Netflix for its third season. The first two seasons of “Cobra Kai” are currently streaming on Netflix and have proven to be very popular.

In the third season of the show, its main characters are still reeling from the violent brawl between rival high school dojos that have left Miguel Diaz, played by Xolo Maridueña, severely injured. Macchio’s Daniel looks for answers in his past while Zabka’s Johnny looks for redemption and John Kreese (Martin Kove) tries to sway his students into aligning with his own vision of dominance.

Cobra Kai is written and executive produced by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg via their production company, Counterbalance Entertainment. Will Smith, James Lassiter, and Caleeb Pinkett executive produce for Overbrook Entertainment along with Susan Ekins in association with Sony Pictures Television. Ralph Macchio and William Zabka serve as co-executive producers.

“Cobra Kai” also stars Courtney Henggeler, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand, Gianni Decenzo, and Peyton List. Yuji Okumoto and Tamlyn Tomita will also appear.
