Crime-Thriller Series ‘The Nurse’ Trailer and Release Date on Netflix

Netflix has revealed the first full-length trailer and premiere date for the Danish-language series, The Nurse. Based on the true story of the nurse from the Danish hospital at Nykøbing Falster, ‘The Nurse’ will release on April 27, 2023, on Netflix, worldwide.

In the series, a nurse at Nykbing Falster Hospital called the Danish police early one morning in March 2015. She suspects her close colleague of slaughtering patients on purpose and fears that it has happened again. Soon after, a murder case unfolds that has never been seen in Danish legal history. Several coworkers have now told police that they believe the nurse poisoned patients, and some have even stated that they have had this suspicion for several years. But why has no one replied? And where is the proof? The Nurse is based on the true story of Christina Aistrup Hansen, a Danish nurse who was sentenced to 12 years in prison in 2017 for four counts of attempted murder. The Nurse is based on Kristian Corfixen's book of the same name.

The Nurse takes us behind the walls of a hospital on Denmark's outskirts, where everyone knows each other and there is little change in personnel. We follow Pernille Kurzmann as she begins her new job as a nurse. She quickly befriends the very charming and charismatic nurse Christina Aistrup Hansen, who appears to be one of a kind, loved by all, incredible at her job, and always first on the scene in an emergency. However, as the days pass and Pernille becomes more acquainted with her surroundings, she gradually realizes that there may be more to Christina than meets the eye. She decides she cannot turn a blind eye to what is going on around her and sets out to discover the truth.

Directed by Kasper Barfoed from a screenplay written by Dorte W. Høgh and Barfoed, The Nurse stars Josephine Park, Fanny Louise Bernth, Peter Zandersen, Amalie Lindegård, and Dick Kaysø.

The series is produced by Nina Leidersdorff and Morten Kjems Hytten Juhl, with Meta Louise Foldager Sørensen as an executive producer from SAM Productions.
