Netflix has revealed the first trailer and release date for the survival-thriller film, ‘Against The Ice.’ Starring Joe Cole and GOT Star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, ‘Against the Ice’ will release on March 2 on Netflix, worldwide.

Directed by award-winning Danish director Peter Flinth, The English language film is produced by the acclaimed filmmaker Baltasar Kormákur and his RVK Studios, the Icelandic production company behind the Netflix original series Katla and newly announced Entrapped. Filming wrapped in January 2021 and earlier it was supposed to release sometime last year.

In 1909, Denmark's Alabama Expedition headed by Captain Ejnar Mikkelsen (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), attempted to dispute the United States' claim to North-Eastern Greenland, a claim based on the notion that Greenland was divided into two separate pieces of territory. Mikkelsen sled across the ice with his rookie crew member, Iver Iversen  (Joe Cole), after leaving their crew behind with the ship. The two men find confirmation that Greenland is one island, but returning to the ship takes much longer and is far more difficult than planned. After battling great hunger, exhaustion, and a polar bear attack, they arrive to discover their ship destroyed in the ice and the camp empty. They must now fight to stay alive while hoping to be rescued.

As the days pass, their mental grasp of reality begins to deteriorate, developing mistrust and paranoia, a dangerous cocktail in their fight for survival. "Against the Ice" is a genuine story of friendship, love, and the incredible power of companionship.

Netflix also revealed a poster for the film.

The additional cast of the film includes Charles Dance (The Crown), Gísli Örn Gardarsson, and Heida Reed (Poldark). Joe Derrick and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau have written the script. The music is composed by Oscar Nominee Volker Bertelmann.
