HBO has revealed two trailers for Team Green and Team Black for the upcoming second season of the Game of Thrones spin-off. The 8-episode ‘House of the Dragon’ Season 2 will be released on June 16, 2024, on HBO and Max, and one new episode will premiere every Sunday.

The Black trailer (watch above) focuses on Queen Rhaenyra, who teases a war. This trailer shows a bunch of action scenes including the one where Daemon shouts, "We fight for our queen." The trailer also shows Daemon threatening the King, "Our terms are very simple: renounce the false king, and bend the knee to the queen, or your house burns."

The Green trailer (watch below) is about King Aegon and Alicent Hightower who are now in charge of the Westeros. Aegon may have been lucky to sit on the Iron Throne, but he will do anything to defend his seat including going to an all-out war with his uncle.

In Season 2, Westeros is on the verge of a horrific civil war, with the Green and Black Councils battling for King Aegon and Queen Rhaenyra, respectively. As each side feels theirs is the rightful seat on the Iron Throne, the Green and Black trailers depict those opposing viewpoints in different but complementary portions of the same tale. For worldwide viewers, "All Must Choose" their House Targaryen side as the realm cracks in season two.

The returning cast of season 2 includes Emma D'Arcy as Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen, Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Olivia Cooke as Queen Alicent Hightower, Fabien Frankel as Ser Criston Cole, Rhys Ifans as Ser Otto Hightower, Harry Collett as Prince Jacaerys "Jace" Velaryon, Tom Glynn-Carney as Prince/King Aegon II Targaryen, Sonoya Mizuno as Mysaria, Eve Best as Princess Rhaenys Targaryen, Ewan Mitchell as Prince Aemond Targaryen, Phia Saban as Princess/Queen Helaena Targaryen, Steve Toussaint as  Lord Corlys 'The Sea Snake' Velaryon, Bethany Antonia as Lady Baela Targaryen, Matthew Needham as Lord Larys 'The Clubfoot' Strong, Jefferson Hall as Ser Tyland Lannister, and Phoebe Campbell as Lady Rhaena Targaryen.

The new additions to the Season 2 cast include Abubakar Salim as Alyn of Hull, Gayle Rankin as Alys Rivers, Freddie Fox as Ser Gwayne Hightower, Kieran Bew as Hugh, Simon Russell Beale as Ser Simon Strong, Tom Bennett as Ulf, Clinton Liberty as Addam of Hull, Jamie Kenna as Ser Alfred Broome, Tom Taylor as Lord Cregan Stark, and Vincent Regan as Ser Rickard Thorne.

House of the Dragon Season 1 ended with Lord Corlys pledging House Velaryon's allegiance to Rhaenyra's "Black" faction as Daemon plans to recruit more Dragonriders and awakens a large dragon, Vermithor, hibernating in a cave. Princes Jacaerys and Lucerys are sent out as envoys to secure the support of Houses Arryn, Stark, and Baratheon. Lucerys meets with Lord Borros Baratheon and discovers the presence of Prince Aemond. Lucerys flees on Arrax, his dragon, but Aemond pursues him on Vhagar. Arrax burns Vhagar and Vhagar devours Lucerys and Arrax, stunning Aemond. At the end of the finale when Rhaenyra learns the news, she is devastated and outraged.
