Jamie Foxx Hunt Vampires for Cash in ‘Day Shift’ First Trailer at Netflix

Netflix has revealed the first trailer for the action-thriller movie ‘Day Shift.’ Starring Jamie Foxx as a vampire hunter alongside Dave Franco, and Snoop Dogg, ‘Day Shift’ will release on August 12 on Netflix, worldwide.

The trailer gives us a look at the neck-snapping, bloodletting gunplay Bud (Jamie Foxx) and his team have in store. In the beginning, Bud adds a shotgun ventilation hole to a vampire grandma. Bud needs $10,000 to pay his bills, so he chooses to be a vampire hunter as he takes the day shift. In the trailer, Snoop Dogg, who seems to look like a cowboy vampire hunter, intones: “Cut necks and cash checks.” The trailer ends with a glimpse at a very frightened Dave Franco pissing his pants and defending The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.

‘Day Shift’ follows Jamie Foxx as a hard-working blue-collar dad, who just wants to provide a good life for his quick-witted 8-year-old daughter, but his mundane San Fernando Valley pool cleaning job is a front for his real source of income, hunting and killing vampires.

The film also stars Natasha Liu Bordizzo (The Voyeurs, The Society), Oliver Masucci (Dark, Enfant Terrible), Steve Howey (Shameless), and C.S. Lee (Dexter, Nora From Queens).

JJ Perry is making his directorial debut with Day Shift. He is known as a second unit director and stunt coordinator.  His credits include Fast & Furious 9, The Fate of the Furious, Bloodshot, and the John Wick franchise. The script is penned by Tyler Tice with current revisions by Shay Hatten (John Wick: Chapter 3- Parabellum, and Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead, and the upcoming John Wick: Chapter 4).

Chad Stahelski (John Wick Franchise) & Jason Spitz for 87Eleven Entertainment; Shaun Redick (Get Out, BlackKklansman) & Yvette Yates Redick (Malicious) for Impossible Dream Entertainment are the producers. Datari Turner and Peter Baxter are executive producers alongside Jamie Foxx.
