Sony Pictures has revealed an exclusive clip that shows Jared Leto's Dr. Michael Morbius transformation into a sinister vampire. Directed by Daniel Espinosa, ‘Morbius’ comes exclusively to movie theaters on January 28, 2022.

The clip begins with Dr. Morbius receiving a medical diagnosis and serum from Martine in a dark location at Ship in the middle of the ocean, but soon something strange begins to happen.

Jared Leto transforms into the mysterious antihero Michael Morbius, one of the most interesting and complex characters in Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters. Dr. Morbius, who is critically ill with a rare blood ailment and is committed to saving those who are in the same situation as him, takes a desperate bet. While it appears to be a huge success at first, the darkness within him is unleashed. Will good triumph over evil, or will Morbius succumb to his odd new desires?

Sony also revealed a new poster for the film, which shows Morbius as a half-human and half Vampire.

Based on the comic books created by Roy Thomas and Gil Kane in 1971, the antagonist’s origin story follows Michael Morbius (Leto), a biochemist in search of a cure for his rare blood disease, and determined to save others suffering the same fate as he attempts a desperate gamble. He accidentally injects himself with vampirism, giving him bat-like superpowers like echo-location and an insatiable thirst for blood.

Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless have written the script for the film, which stars Matt Smith as Loxias Crown, Adria Arjona as Martine Bancroft, Tyrese Gibson as Simon Stroud, Archie Renaux as Bobby, Michael Keaton, and Jared Harris.

The film also seems to be related to MCU and Spider-Man as the last trailer has multiple references to the Spider-Man universe. Michael Keaton is also set to reprise his role from Spider-Man: Homecoming, it will be interesting to see if he also reprises the role of Vulture.
