Keanu Reeves has returned on the sets as John Wick Part 4 has officially begun production in Paris. The film was supposed to release this year, but Reeves's commitment to the Matrix 4 and the COVID pandemic made him unavailable, and the production never got started last year.

Chad Stahelski is directing the movie from a script written by Michael Finch and Shay Hatten based on the characters by Derek Kolstad.

The plot for the fourth action-packed movie in the franchise is still kept under the wraps. The only information about the plot is the tagline revealed during the announcement of the movie "You have served. You will be of service." Unlike the previous John Wick movies, this one will mostly feature locations outside the New York city as super-assassin John Wick will be on an international tour to Japan, Germany, and France.

The film has assembled its cast with new members joining and also Laurence Fishburne is so far the only returning actor (others may get announced later) from the previous films leaving aside Keanu reeves.

Rina Sawayama, whose character description is yet to be revealed, will be the female lead in this movie, Donnie Yen joins as an old friend of John Wick whose name is also not yet revealed, and the latest entry in the cast is Shamier Anderson, and like the others, his character is also kept under the wraps. Hiroyuki Sanada, and Bill Skarsgård also stars.

Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, and Stahelski are producing, with Reeves and Louise Rosner executive producing. Summit Entertainment and Thunder Road Pictures are the two other production companies along with Lionsgate, who is also the lead distributor of the film.

All the John Wick films are so far very successful on the box-office with each of them doing better than their predecessors. The first film in the series made around $88 million on the box office, with the follow-up movie, making around $171 million worldwide. The last film was the biggest success which made $326 million on the box-office worldwide. All of them combined have made around $587 from a combined budget of $140 million.

The success of the John Wick movies led Lionsgate to announce the fifth movie in the franchise, which was supposed to shot back to back with John Wick 4 but recently that plan of shooting was canceled.

Lionsgate also has a spin-off movie "Ballerina" in active development, but so far nothing has been made official yet.
