‘Money Heist’ Renewed for 5th and Final Season at Netflix

La Casa de Papel is coming to an end, Netflix has just announced the renewal of “Money Heist” for a fifth and final season. Announcing the Season 5 renewal of the spanish drama series on twitter, Netflix said “The heist comes to an end.”

The filming for the fifth season will start in Spain on August 3 and will consist of 10 episodes in its final season.

“We’ve spent almost a year thinking about how to break up the band. How to put the Professor on the ropes. How to get into situations that are irreversible for many characters. The result is the fifth part of ‘La Casa de Papel.’ The war reaches its most extreme and savage levels, but it is also the most epic and exciting season.” said the creator Alex Pina.

Jesús Colmenar will executive produce with Pina finishing his run as executive producer and showrunner along with Cristina López Ferraz who will once again fill the role of director of production. Javier Gómez Santander will head writer and co-produce with DoP Migue Amodeo and Esther Martínez-Lobato.

The series stars Úrsula Coberó (Tokyo), Álvaro Morte (The Professor), Itziar Ituño (Lisbon), Pedro Alonso (Berlin), Miguel Herrán (Rio), Jaime Lorente (Denver), Esther Acebo (Stockholm), Enrique Arce (Arturo), Darko Peric (Helsinki), Hovik Keuchkerian (Bogotá), Luka Peros (Marseille), Belén Cuesta (Manila), Fernando Cayo (Coronel Tamayo), Rodrigo de la Serna (Palermo), Najwa Nimri (Inspector Sierra), and José Manuel Poga (Gandía).

Regular directors Jesús Colmenar, Koldo Serra and Álex Rodrigo return behind the camera.

“Money Heist” is Netflix most-watched non-English language series along side Dark which already had its final season premiered last month. Seeing this series also coming to an end fans would certainly not gonna feel happy about it.
