If you are someone who loves watching plots that have a mix of forbidden love, assassins, family trauma, etc., then My Dearest Assassin is just your perfect watch for the day. The plot revolves around Lhan, a young woman cursed with an extraordinarily rare type of blood. But that isn’t the issue; the issue is the fact that many powerful people wish to have her blood. Forced to love in hiding, Lhan experiences a life where she is disconnected from the rest of the world. Her biggest and closest support in a situation like this is Pran. Between them is a love that needs protection from the rest of the world, else it will finish with Lhan.

The plot of My Dearest Assassin has everything that it needs to make it worth at least one watch. For example, throughout the run time, we see that Lhan and Pran are always in a fight or a flight mode. There is a lot of tussle that they face from the outside world due to her rare blood type. And naturally, it does impact their love story too. But the chemistry between the characters feels as natural as it can get. In between putting up a fight from the rest of the world, there is a sense of comfort that both characters draw from each other in My Dearest Assassin. And it goes without saying, the entire plot is based on this love of theirs.

There are many good things about the film. For example, the fight scenes shown are sharp and well-choreographed. The movements are clean and delivered well. What makes them even more compelling is how well they have been captured on camera. This is important for a film where most of the scenes are action-based.

Visually, you can expect an atmosphere of hideouts and goons by the way the lighting and the background have been developed. That is important because it shows us the gravity of the situation or the dangers these people have gotten themselves into.

However, even with all this, My Dearest Assassin is not without its flaws. For example, the pacing is highly erratic. This is something I have seen with many movies of this sort, but that is no excuse for this one. The pacing can really test your patience. In some scenes, the speed slows down so much that even after fast forwarding, you will realize that there has been no big plot development at all. A movie of this sort should always have a good speed for it to work, and sadly, we miss out on that.

Also, I didn’t like the way the movie ended. I was expecting a better execution, but that didn’t happen, and it can leave many viewers disappointed with what we got ultimately. But even with all this, an honest attempt has been made to make My Dearest Assassin worth a watch, and while it will remain a one-time watch for many of us, one should actually go watch it. It is a sad plot, so be ready for some personal heartbreak on your part, too.

Final Score- [6/10]
