Netflix has partnered with Japan based animation company Studio Trigger Inc. and CD Projekt Red to produce an anime spin-off series from video game Cyberpunk 2077 - "CYBERPUNK: EDGERUNNER."
CYBERPUNK: EDGERUNNERS tells a standalone, 10-episode story about a street kid trying to survive in a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future. Having everything to lose, he chooses to stay alive by becoming an edgerunner—a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk. The series will premiere in 2022.
Edgerunners is "a standalone story set in the same universe" as Cyberpunk 2077, says producer Saya Elder. "The stage is Night City, but everything else is totally new."
Netflix also announced the news on twitter along with Cyperpunk 2077 official twitter account
