Netflix has revealed the first trailer for Jason Momoa's action-thriller “Sweet Girl.” Directed by Brian Andrew Mendoza, the film will be released on Netflix on August 20.
Jason Momoa stars as Cooper, a devastated husband, who vows to bring justice to the people responsible for the death of his wife while protecting the only family he has left, his daughter Rachel.
The official synopsis of the film says, "Devoted family man Ray Cooper, vows justice against the pharmaceutical company responsible for pulling a potentially life-saving drug from the market just before his wife (Adria Arjona) dies from cancer. But when his search for the truth leads to a deadly encounter that puts Ray and his daughter Rachel (Isabela Merced) in harm’s way, Ray’s mission turns into a quest for vengeance to protect the only family he has left."
SWEET GIRL is directed by Brian Andrew Mendoza from a screenplay written by Philip Eisner, Gregg Hurwitz, and Will Staples and it also stars Justin Bartha, Amy Brenneman, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Raza Jaffrey, Lex Scott Davis, and Michael Raymond-James.
Brad Peyton and Jeff Fierson Momoa, Mendoza, and Martin Kistler (On The Roam) are the producers of the film.
Mendoza is making his feature directorial debut with Sweet Girl which reunites him with Momoa. Mendoza has previously served as the Producer on Braven, as well as Executive Producing Frontier, both starring Momoa.
Jason Momoa is also starring in the Netflix film “Slumberland,” which completed production last month and will premiere on Netflix in 2022.
