‘Neuromancer’: Filming Schedule Revealed for the Apple TV+ Sci-Fi Series

After the lead cast announcement, the filming schedule for the upcoming Apple TV+ sci-fi series Neuromancer has also been revealed, and it's just a few weeks away. Based on William Gibson’s science fiction novel of the same name, “Neuromancer” will be a 10-episode series created by Graham Roland (“Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan,” “Dark Winds”) and JD Dillard (“Devotion,” “The Outsider,” “Sleight”).

As per a new listing in Prod List, “Neuromancer” will begin filming on September 30, 2024, in Los Angeles, California, and will take more than seven months to officially wrap production on May 12, 2025. The series is also expected to be filmed in London, England.

The series will follow a damaged, top-rung super-hacker named Case played by Callum Turner who is thrust into a web of digital espionage and high-stakes crime with his partner Molly played by Briana Middleton, a razor-girl assassin with mirrored eyes aiming to pull a heist on a corporate dynasty with untold secrets.

A co-production between Skydance Television and Anonymous Content, “Neuromancer” will also be produced by Drake’s DreamCrew Entertainment, with Roland serving as showrunner and JD Dillard set to direct the pilot episode. “Neuromancer” is likely to premiere in 2026 on Apple TV+.

“Neuromancer” will be executive produced by Roland and Dillard, alongside David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell for Skydance Television; Anonymous Content; Drake, Adel ‘Future’ Nur, and Jason Shrier for DreamCrew Entertainment; and Zack Hayden and Gibson.

The debut novel by William Gibson, “Neuromancer” has been praised as one of the first and most-respected works within the cyberpunk genre and has received numerous accolades, including the Nebula Award, the Philip K. Dick Award, and the Hugo Award. The novel served as the first book in the “Sprawl” trilogy and was followed by “Count Zero” and “Mona Lisa Overdrive.”

In the novel, Henry Dorsett Case is a low-level hustler in the dystopian underworld of Chiba City, Japan. Case was formerly a skilled computer hacker and "console cowboy" who was caught stealing from his company. Case's central nervous system was injured as punishment, rendering him unable to access the virtual reality dataspace known as the "matrix". Molly Millions, an enhanced "razor-girl" and mercenary, approaches Case on behalf of a secretive US ex-military commander named Armitage, who promises to heal him in exchange for his skills as a hacker. Case agrees, and his nervous system is healed, however poison sacs are inserted into his blood arteries. If Case finishes the job, Armitage will have the sacs removed; otherwise, they would rupture and cripple him again.
