‘Neuromancer’ First Trailer Sets High Expectations, Release Date Confirmed

Apple TV has revealed the first trailer and the premiere date for the highly anticipated sci-fi series, ‘Neuromancer,’ during its Comic-Con panel in San Diego. Based on the award-winning novel of the same name by William Gibson. The 10-episode series will be released globally on Apple TV on Friday, January 22, 2027, with two episodes, followed by one new episode every Friday through March 19, 2027.

The teaser trailer opens on the silhouette of Callum Turner as the damaged hacker Case, standing with his arm extended in a rain-soaked and debris-strewn abandoned stadium as he gazes out at a misty, densely packed skyline of towering futuristic buildings under a dull gray sky. Case’s voice asks what he is doing here, and Mark Strong as Armitage answers that purpose is everything, that Case is scared just as they all are, and that the question is what makes him so special. Case replies that he is the best console man around and that he steals data in cyberspace; the response comes that they will find out.

The montage that follows races through the series’ cyberpunk world with a propulsive energy. There are quick glimpses of leather-clad figures near large circular viewports beaded with condensation, a crowded neon-drenched alleyway lined with glowing Japanese signs, hanging lanterns, and throngs of people moving through steam and light, Briana Middleton as the razor-girl Molly reclining in oversized black sunglasses and a leather jacket over a graphic t-shirt, and intense close-ups of Case’s face amid the glow of computer interfaces. A technician kneels to interact with a heavy, industrial black device marked WD-28, its touchscreen active and thick cables trailing from it amid warning labels. The imagery shifts into a fog-filled interior space where holographic playing cards float in the air, red laser lines on the floor while figures in white move dynamically through the haze. A striking close-up shows Case’s head tilted back and mouth open as a slender metallic probe approaches his face, followed by an explosive abstract sequence of pink, blue, and white digital particles bursting outward in the void of cyberspace.

Interwoven with the dialogue are urgent lines—“Let’s roll,” “Turn it up”—and the sound of cheering before the trailer closes on the words “See you on the other side” and “Jack,” ending with the Apple TV logo rendered in a glitching, chromatic style. The overall effect is a dense, atmospheric immersion into a neon-noir near-future of neural interfaces, crowded sprawls, and high-stakes digital crime, teasing the partnership between the console cowboy and the augmented assassin as they target a powerful corporate dynasty.

“Neuromancer” centers on Case (Turner), a damaged elite super-hacker who is drawn into a complex web of digital espionage and high-stakes crime alongside his partner Molly (Middleton), a razor-girl assassin, as the pair attempt a heist against a corporate dynasty harboring untold secrets.

The series stars Turner, Briana Middleton, Mark Strong, Joseph Lee, Peter Sarsgaard, and Clémence Poésy. The ensemble cast further includes Max Irons, Dane DeHaan, Junia Rees, Jordan Kouamé, Emma Laird, Marc Menchaca, André De Shields, and Isabella Pappas. Paramount Television Studios and Anonymous Content produce the series, which Graham Roland and JD Dillard created for television. Roland serves as showrunner and executive producer, joined by Dillard as well as David Levine, Garrett Kemble, and Zack Hayden of Anonymous Content; Aubrey “Drake” Graham, Adel “Future” Nur, and Jason Shrier of DreamCrew Entertainment; and Jennifer Haley and William Gibson, who also executive produce. Dillard directs the first three episodes.
