Netflix has revealed the first trailer of “Never Have I Ever” season 2. The series will return to Netflix for its second season on July 15.
Season 2 will see Devi navigating the aftermath of her kiss with frenemy Ben Gross (Lewinson) while still juggling feelings for longtime crush Paxton Hall-Yoshida (Barnet). A new love life, a new classmate, and new reasons to bicker with mom give Devi plenty more ways to make courageous moves and questionable decisions.
Season 2 started production in November 2020 and has a little break in January 2021, after the resumption, it completed filming in April.
Season 2 has added some new faces to the cast in Megan Suri, Tyler Alvarez, Utkarsh Ambudkar, and P.J. Byrne. Season 2 will see Maitreyi Ramakrishnan reprise her lead role as high school student Devi Vishwakumar alongside the returning cast including Poorna Jagannathan(who plays Devi’s mother Dr. Nalini Vishwakumar), Richa Moorjani (who plays her cousin Kamala), Jaren Lewison, Darren Barnet, Lee Rodriguez, and Ramona Young.
From co-creators Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher, "Never Have I Ever" is a coming-of-age comedy about the life of a modern-day first-generation Indian American teenage girl Devi played by Maitreyi Ramakrishnan. The character is an overachieving high school sophomore who has a short fuse that gets her into difficult situations. In addition to the ultra-relatable high school drama about fitting in, searching for love, and trying to figure out who you are, Devi is also dealing with the sudden death of her father. It is executive produced by 3 Arts Entertainment’s Howard Klein and David Miner.
