Patrick Stewart Officially Confirms His Return as Professor X in ‘Doctor Strange 2’

‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ is rumored to have an insane amount of cameos in it and now we have multiple confirmations months before the release

Even though his voice made it pretty much clear that he has officially arrived in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it is great to have the official confirmation from Patrick Stewart himself.


In an interview with Jake's Takes, Patrick Stewart has confirmed that he is reprising his Professor Charles Xavier role from the X-Men films in the upcoming "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness."


In the super bowl trailer, Professor X was hardly visible, but his voice was recognized by everyone. In the trailer, he says, "We should tell him the truth," referring to Doctor Strange.


Below is the full statement of Patrick Stewart from the Interview:


"Next morning after the Superbowl, when I woke up and looked at my phone and found that I had been bombarded with the responses and that my PR people had sent me reactions that they had detailed and passed on to me and I actually didn't recognize my own voice. It sounded different. Whether I had a cold or something at the time, I don't know, but I was astonished and all they saw was the back of my shoulder and I think my earlobe, nothing else that there would have been so many connections made but It pleased me. It was a beautiful beautiful moment."


Professor X will the part of the team of the Illuminati, which reportedly also includes, a variant of Tony Stark, Black Panther, and Mordo. Doctor Strange has been arrested for messing up with the Multiverse and he has been brought to the Illuminati headquarters for the hearing. In the trailer, Ultron Bots bring Doctor Strange to a hall, where we get to see the back of Professor X.


In the role of Professor X, Patrick Stewart was last seen alongside Hugh Jackman's Logan in 2017. Doctor Strange 2 will be the first time in five years that we will get to see Professor X on the big screen.


Directed by Sam Raimi, ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ will release in theaters on May 6, 2022. In the film, Benedict Cumberbatch plays Doctor Strange, Benedict Wong as Strange's ally magician Wong, Rachel McAdams as doctor Christine's, his ex-girlfriend, and his old friend Mordo played by Chiwetel Ejiofor. Elizabeth Olsen returns in the role of Wanda aka Scarlet Witch, and newcomer Xochitl Gomez will portray America Chavez, a new fan-favorite from the comics.
