Sci-Fi Movie ‘Warriors of Future’ (明日 戰記) Trailer and Release Date on Netflix

Netflix has revealed the release date for the Cantonese-language sci-fi movie, ‘Warriors of Future,’ after its successful run at the box office when it was released in theaters n August 2022. The sci-fi action film, ‘Warriors of Future’ will release on Netflix on December 2, 2022, worldwide. The film will also be released with English-dubbed audio. Watch the trailer above.

In the film, a meteorite carrying a fast-growing alien vine known as "Pandora" crashes down on a barren Earth ravaged by pollution and global warming in 2055. "Pandora" purifies the world while killing everything in its path. To protect their citizens, Hong Kong's heavily armored military, armed with the plant's genetic map, attempts but fails to destroy "Pandora" and uncovers a conspiracy.

Directed by Yuen Fai Ng, the film stars Louis Koo, Sean Lau Ching Wan, Carina Lau, Philip Keung, Tse Kwan-ho, Janice Wu, Wan Guopeng, Nick Cheung, Eddy Ko, and Sakurako Okubo.

“We went into shooting knowing that there would be many challenges for us to overcome; it wasn’t easy, but Warriors of Future finally came to fruition.” Ng added that “Sci-fi films are few and far between in Asia, and I hope that Warriors of Future can add some new perspective to this genre in the region” says Yuen Fai Ng, Director.

“Since I was a kid, and even when I started building my career in film, I kept wondering when we can produce a sci-fi film that is original to Asia. I am glad that Warriors of Future has been recognized by many as an iconic Hong Kong sci-fi film and that Netflix will show the world that Hong Kong also has what it takes to create high-caliber CGI," says Louis Koo, Executive Producer, and Lead Actor.

From a budget of over US$56 million, Warriors of Future has grossed a total of US$109.8 million worldwide combining its box office gross from Hong Kong (US$9.3 million), and China (US$100.27 million).
