For those of you who watched the Thai version of this, be ready for the disappointment that you will get from this. The plot follows Darwin, a successful photographer whose life changes after an incident. One night, he and his girlfriend, Pia, are involved in a hit-and-run case with a mysterious woman on the road. Instead of helping her, they move away quietly and as quickly as possible. Soon afterwards, they return to their normal lives, and he begins developing a batch of photographs when he notices a dark, shadowy figure in them. Initially, Pia and Darwin think that it is a camera glitch. But they are wrong. Soon afterwards, this figure starts to come around again and again in their real life as well. When Pia starts her investigation, she realizes that the woman is Lilies, a brilliant student who Darwin and his friends. However, all of his friends start dying one after the other without any proper explanation. This forces them to unveil the past of Darwin, in which there are many secrets buried, some of which they have forgotten even existed. None of them is prepared for what lies ahead for them.
The plot is so old and repetitive that at one point, you will start guessing what is going to happen, and surprisingly, all your guesses will be right. Even the jump scares will no longer make you feel afraid of whatever is happening around you.
I, for once, got heavily bored with this plot. None of it made any sense. At this point, so many horror movies have come out that these old plots just bring a great deal of annoyance for those of you who are deeply interested in this genre. Some things are so expected, such as the ghostly figures that, as I said before, you won’t be scared one bit at all. Now the question is, what new are we getting? Well nothing.
The only reason the movie is somewhat watchable is that it follows the previous plot of its predecessor. This means that if you are a new watcher who doesn’t know what lies ahead, this can be watched once. However, if you are someone who has watched this earlier, along with some really good horror films and series that come on the market, this movie will fail to impress you, sadly.
The pacing is slow. Yes, I understand that such movies require slow pacing for the build-up, but really, though, it doesn’t make any sense. It is very slow, so much so that one might end up feeling sleepy in between, and if you feel sleepy in a horror movie, it is a clear indication that this isn’t worth watching at all.
All in all, this is a one-time watch if you haven’t watched it earlier. If you have, I would suggest watching something else, because why disappoint oneself by watching a badly made remake of what could have been amazing?
Final Score- [3/10]
